About us
Children and Radio
has been active since 2004 and in 2012 became a project from the
charity London Link Radio. The aims of the project are:
- To advance the education of the public in
all aspects of radio broadcasting for and by children and
young people, in particular but not exclusively by:
- (a) providing a forum for the exchange
of information on all aspects of radio broadcasting for
and by children and young people;
- (b) undertaking research into all
aspects of radio broadcasting for and by children and
young people and disseminating the results of such
research to the public.
- To advance the education and training of
children and young people in the skills of sound recording
and production and the making of radio programmes.
Currently, the main activity is the
maintaining of this information website.
In 2004-5 Children and Radio* carried out a research study into
children participating in radio, which was supported by Voice
of the Listener Trust and the research company ChildWise. The results and report are
available on this website.
*At the time, Children and Radio was a
not-for-profit company limited by guarantee, company no. 05034208.
